It's about arguably the premier racing conception in the world - Formula 1. The pinnacle of every drivers career to drive in F1.
Near Photo realistic. Graphics are the best ever in our opinion for a Formual 1 game to date. Works well with our test system at max resolution and settings on high. No slowdowns, no pauses just plain smooth! When you watch replays of your races it looks very close to real thing!
As you would expect from Codemasters , accurate representation of the Formula 1 engines. As you power down the track the noise of the road is perfectly represented.
Menus and Options
Minor negative but the menus to our mind could be better designed. It's simple enough but sometimes if you have additional controllers it keeps asking you to calibrate them. Also you have to press the functions keys in certain menus to scroll through the options. Its not bad but could be improved.
Much improved from previous versions, as usual the aids can help beginners, the AI is clever and not dopey that it crashes into you. A key is to learn the tracks before you start to gradually remove the driving aids. Plenty of modes to keep everyone happy including a career mode, quick races and multiplayer. Research and development is also a part of this game where you can develop your car over time. A huge plus for us was the inclusion of iconic F1 cars from Williams, Ferrari, Mclaren, Renault and Williams. Other gameplay options include Time Attack, Overtake, Pursuit and checkpoint challenge.
All the F1 teams are included, old cars as well as new, excellent visuals, lots of options. To our mind the best F1 game to date.
